Leadership – Lead from the Front!

Have you wondered why some people seem better at leading than others?
For example, when you are doing your group projects, there is always one person who naturally takes charge and becomes the leader.
Who are Those People?
Sure, I know they are leaders.
But what I am asking is, have you ever thought about what makes them stand out from the rest?
Do You know what I am tired of hearing?
"A leader is always born."
True, some people are born leaders, but it is not impossible to take on their traits. 
In a nutshell, leadership is something that can be learned. And I am here to help you do just that!
Before we dig deeper into how to be a leader, we need to know what attributes leaders have.
What Is a Leader?​

Apart from these four qualities, there are so many more which make a leader.
I know, I know, your question is still unanswered!
How Can I Be a Leader?
The following are some things to work on to become a leader.
  • Be authoritative: Sure, you need to be empathetic towards your team, but you also need to be authoritative. They feel confident in your leadership.
  • Communicate: Be someone who can easily be approached. Apart from that, communicate. Don't only rely on your actions. Talk and translate everything into words.
  • Confidence: You need to develop a confident personality. Who would want to follow a person who seems insecure and uncertain all the time?
  • Decision-making ability: Making the right decision at the right time is a key attribute of a leader. It would be best if you were quick and firm with your decisions.
  • Accountable: Learn to take responsibility for your team. A good leader always takes more than their part of the blame.
  • Creativity: Creativity requires imagination and openness to new ideas and new ways of getting things done.
  • Transparency: Be transparent in your actions. Even if there is a problem, share all the information that is relevant to your decision-making.
  • Build negotiation skills: problem-solving often requires some negotiation. You can't make everyone happy all of the time, but if each side goes away feeling heard and getting some relief, then it's a win.
  • Set an example: The old saying that "actions speak louder than words" holds true. As much as your team listens to what you say, they watch what you do very closely. So if there are skills or attributes you want to promote or develop on your team, you must model those behaviors first.
All in all, these are some qualities you need to work on consistently. Of course, being a leader is not easy, but you can learn to do and get really good at, with practice.
