Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Is your organization a 501c3?
    1. Yes, we are  Florida nonprofit corporation that has received 501c3 status from the Internal Revenue Service which means your donations are tax-deductible if you qualify.
  2. What is your organization’s mission?
    1. Journey to Esquire’s mission is to create lawyers you lead, mentor, and inspire, one student at a time. We help diverse law students (BIPOC. LGBTQ+, disabled and differently-abled, first-generation, immigrant, among other characteristics) navigate the journey to esquire by providing emotional and financial support.
  3. Where does the money go when I donate to your organization?
    1. Primarily, it will go to the Scholarship Fund, but we also use some of the funds for operational costs. Journey to Esquire® programs are entirely volunteer-run, but we need to pay for our technological services and digital products, like our website, donor pages, and other services.  As our program grows we need to hire part-time and full-time staff to continue to deliver excellent service to our students, manage the accounting and paperwork associated with running a nonprofit organization,  and stay in constant communication with our partners.
  4. Who runs the organization?
    1. The Board of Directors of Diversity Access Pipeline, Inc. runs the program. Check out this page for our current board members. Founder, Joseline J. Hardrick, Esq., is the current Executive Director that runs the Journey to Esquire programs with the help of our awesome volunteers.
